What it solves & why businesses use it

A Google reviews widget helps businesses solve the challenge of building trust and credibility online by displaying authentic customer feedback. The benefits include:

  • Enhancing trust: Google reviews are trusted by customers as they come from real users. Displaying these reviews on your site helps build trust and influence purchase decisions.

  • Improving conversion rates: Positive reviews act as social proof, encouraging new customers to proceed with a purchase or book a service.

  • Building brand credibility: Having good reviews publicly displayed on your website shows that your business is legitimate, trustworthy, and provides value.

When & how to use it

The Google reviews widget works best when it is strategically placed throughout the customer journey to provide real-time social proof. Key triggers and use cases include:

  • Homepage: Display the widget on your homepage to immediately build trust with new visitors and showcase your business's reputation from the moment they land on your site.

  • Product pages: Use the Google reviews widget on individual product pages to provide ratings and reviews specific to that product.

  • Service pages: Display the widget on service pages to showcase customer satisfaction with the services offered.

How it looks

A Google reviews widget typically includes the following visual elements:

  • Star ratings: Display the average star rating (e.g., 4.8/5) prominently, making it easy for visitors to gauge the quality of your business quickly.

  • Customer reviews: Show a sample of customer reviews with their names and locations, creating a more personal connection with the audience.

  • Review count: Indicate how many reviews have been submitted (e.g., “Based on 250 reviews”), which adds credibility.

  • Call to action: Include a button or link prompting users to read more reviews or leave their own.

How to set it up

Step 1. Choose a template

Save time by choosing one of our Google reviews widget templates. All you need to do is adjust it to your needs, and you're ready to launch.

Step 2: Customize

Replace the default link with the direct link to your Google reviews. Double-click the field and insert your link in the right sidebar. Also, update the text to which the link is attached. Finally, update the rating itself and the icons.

To change icons, simply click on them — the right sidebar will give you the option to either choose from Claspo’s built-in icon library or upload your own icons.

Step 3. Set up the display rules

This type of social proof works especially well on pages where you need to help hesitant shoppers feel more secure about making a purchase — your homepage, product or service pages, and your contact page.

Trigger the Google review website widget on scroll — for example, after the user scrolls 30-40% of the page. This way, you’re showing your reviews when they’re already engaging with your content.

Once all that’s set up, you’re good to go — your Google reviews will become part of your site’s credibility toolkit.
